Wapawekka to Deschambault

About this Canoe Route

Wapawekka to Deschambault

Montreal River Outpost provides shuttle service in this area south of Lac La Ronge. With your put-in off Highway 912, the first portion of your trip is the vastness of Wapawekka Lake. Islands to ward off the wind are not present, so caution is warranted as you explore this large lake.

The second portion of this route, as the water narrow, is the Deschambault River. The intermediate paddler will enjoy running the rapids versus taking the sixteen portages.

The third portion is delightful Deschambault Lake which has islands and bays to assist with navigating the waves. Your take-out is at the end of the road on highway 911.

A rollicking northern Saskatchewan adventure!
