About this Canoe Route
Lynx-Sulphide-Lynx
Looking for a fun trip just north of La Ronge? The Lynx-Sulphide-Lynx loop is a 13km in-and-out loop that starts and ends on Lynx Lake, ~50km north of the town of La Ronge. This short trip is a great one for learning the basics of canoe tripping or for those who want some low-pressure fishing. The lakes on this canoe route are fairly small, which allows for ample tree & land coverage to protect you from heavy winds.
This canoe trip can be completed in 1-2 days, depending on how long you want to spend on the water. There are 4 well-maintained portages on this loop that are relatively easy to traverse. As with most northern Saskatchewan portages, expect wet feet!
Sulphide Lake is a popular destination for remote fishing, so when doing the Lynx-Sulphide-Lynx Loop, pack your fishing rod. Pickerel and pike await you on Sulphide Lake!
