Hawkrock River

From your put-in at Forsyth Lake to your float plane take-out at the mouth of the Fond du Lac River on Black Lake, you will trek beautiful remote northern Saskatchewan wilderness. The trip can be made shorter by flying out at the confluence of the Porcupine River but coming all this way and missing the chance to see Burr Falls should not be taken lightly.

This trip is characterized by a series of rapids that increase in difficulty. Some of the rapids are classified as 2+. Thus, this trip is for paddlers with advanced whitewater skills. Portages do not exist.

Besides beautiful lakes, the Hawkrock River runs through a magnificent limestone gorge. Not only are these cliffs for your gaze, but for your feet and hands to scale as well. Find caves amidst the various formations.

Fishing is excellent on this tip. Campsites are open, surrounded by pine forest. Many people rate this trip as their favourite in northern Saskatchewan!
