Coghlan Falls

About this Canoe Route

Coghlan Falls

There are two put-in options for this route. One is starting at the Johnson River bridge, parking at Johnson River Camp, and paddling upstream on Pardoe Lake, west of Highway 905; the other is to add 5km to the trip and paddling Courtenay Lake and the creek which leads to Pardoe Lake. Montreal River Outpost offers shuttle service to these remote locations for your convenience.

Several great campsites line Pardoe Lake, which is shored by sand. The advantage of a shorter distance to paddle is that you can spend more time chilling out in a campsite together with friends & family.

The Falls at the end of Pardoe Lake ascends 28 metres over four waterfalls. This is a great trip to take amazing photographs. You can also portage around these waterfalls to paddle to another 10-metre waterfall further upstream. A short trip with wondrous scenery!
