Ric Driediger

ric.jpg (10K)

Ric has been invovled in wilderness leadership and guiding since 1973. Most of these years have been spent wandering around the Churchill River region of Northern Saskatchewan. Ric has owned and operated Horizons Unlimited Wilderness Services since he started the company in 1979. His company purchased Churchill River Canoe Outfitters in 1986. Ric knows nearly every nook and cranny of the northern Saskatchewan wilderness. If you want information on any canoe route - he's the one to ask. He's well known for his stories of adventures and misadventures from his many years of travel and hearing the tales of canoeists returning from their trips. Ric works with his wife Theresa and his two kids Daniel and Sarah.

Kevin Schultz

leekevin (15K)

Kevin started guiding for Ric in 1982. He's still doing it. Kevin has become recognized as the guide of choice in Northern Saskatchewan. He's well known for his incredible canoeing skill, awesome teaching ability and his laid back attitude. Kevin has guided on rivers all over northern Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut and Northwest Territories. Kevin is also a great fly fishing instructor and guide. He has helped clients catch some impressive northern pike on a fly rod. Kevin's side kick is his dog Taiga. Taiga can swim front ferries as well as anyone. Kevin lives in Turtleford, Saskatchewan with his wife Christa and daughter Zoe.

Heidi Seida

Heidi has worked for Churchill River Canoe Outfitters since the summer of 2000. She has been in charge of food preparation and food packing for our canoe trips and clinics. Heidi has also helped out in our office. Her knowledge of German has been a great help with our European guests. Heidi is the head of the Saskatchewan Recreation Canoe Association. She lives in Saskatoon with her two energetic sons Brady and Landis.

Leon Charles

Leon started working for Ric in 1987 when he was a young teenager. He has developed into an awesome fishing guide, an impressive whitewater paddler, a great canoe guide and an incredible leader. At present he is the Counsellor for the Grandmother Bay Reserve near Missinipe. He is highly respected in his community. His claim to faim is the David Thompson article in the 1994 National Geographic magazine. Leon is the native guide talked about in the article. He lives in Grandmother Bay with his wife, Linda and their three daughters Nichole, Michelle and Naomi.

Lee (13K)

Lee Cormier

Lee started working for Ric in 2002. He has quickly become known for his skill, his teaching ability and his incredible strength. Don't be fooled by his quiet demeanour. Lee is a sought after instructor and guide. He is also an accomplished fly fisherman. Lee graduated from the Adventure Program an Lakeland College and now attends Augustana University. We are hoping he'll be around for a long time.

Amanda Pauls

Amanda started working here in 2002. She's fun loving, funny and a great guide. If we want to know which lake Amanda is paddling on - we just listen - we can hear her laugh. If we listen closely, we can hear her group laughing with her. Amanda is a great person. We are hoping her road to becoming a doctor doesn't take her away from the Churchill River during the summers.

Other staff will be announced as I know who they might be this coming summer.
